delivering the first memorial lecture for Sughra Humayun Mirza at the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) on "Indian Constitution, Gender Equality, and Uniform Civil Code." Prof. Mustafa claims that the
Uniform Civil Code is used as a campaign promise only to be forgotten after elections. The lecture was put together by the Department of Women's Education (DWE) and Safdaria Girls High School in Hyderabad.
“Opposition to the Uniform Civil Code based on religious freedom will not last. Prof. Mustafa added, "The right to culture under Article 29 is a better option." He praised Sughra Humayun Mirza, a noble lady and social reformer from Hyderabad, for encouraging girls and women to be educated, pointing out that getting an education used to be difficult for women.
