Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced that the Telangana government would provide all necessary assistance to badminton superstar PV Sindhu for taking part in future championship events.
Chandrashekhar Rao said Hyderabad had emerged as a centre for preparing sportspersons for competing in international tournaments and producing sports stars. He termed Sindhu pride of the country and congratulated her for bringing laurels to the nation by becoming the first Indian to win the
World Badminton Championships.
The Chief Minister was speaking after felicitating Sindhu who called on him at Pragathi Bhavan on Wednesday. “Sindhu has enhanced the nation’s prestige. By winning the World Championships, she cemented her place as an extraordinary achiever among 130 crore Indians. This is a moment of pride for all of us,” he said, adding that such an achievement comes from rigorous practice, concentration and dedication.
