In a swift and efficient operation, the Ghatkesar police successfully rescued a four-year-old girl who had been kidnapped from near her house on Wednesday night. Within a remarkable span of just 12 hours, the police apprehended the kidnapper and restored the four-year-old Krishnaveni to her relieved parents.
The incident occurred when Krishnaveni ventured out of her residence in the EWS colony of Ghatkesar to visit a nearby shop. The alleged kidnapper, identified as Suresh, who resided in the same colony, enticed her with chocolates before swiftly spiriting her away.
Realizing that their daughter had been missing for an unusually long time, the girl’s anxious parents began inquiries to locate her. Their efforts were soon bolstered by the assistance of local youths, who rallied to support the search for the missing child.
Upon receiving the information, the Ghatkesar police sprang into action, forming special teams that included members from the IT cell and crime branch. They promptly obtained a photograph of the suspect from surveillance cameras in the
area.
“Photographs of Suresh and the girl were widely circulated among police stations, railway stations, and bus stations. We also enlisted the aid of auto rickshaw drivers’ unions in our search efforts. Ultimately, we tracked down Suresh to Secunderabad and successfully rescued the girl,” revealed DS Chauhan, the Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda.
After abducting the girl, Suresh had attempted to escape by heading to Ghatkesar railway station planning to reach Kazipet. However, the determined police teams intercepted him at the railway station in Secunderabad, foiling his plans.
Commissioner Chauhan confirmed that Suresh was currently under interrogation to ascertain the motive behind the kidnapping. “The questioning is ongoing, but thankfully, the girl is unharmed and safe,” he stated.
Commissioner Chauhan visited Ghatkesar and personally handed over the rescued child to her grateful parents, accompanied by other officials. He further emphasized that the Rachakonda police had set a stringent 24-hour timeline to swiftly resolve cases involving crimes against women and children.
