L&T has completed installing a pre-fabricated steel bridge at Bhoiguda on the JBS-Falaknuma Corridor 2. The bridge was built over a very congested and narrow underpass with heavy road and train traffic.
The operation was completed in less than six hours of “traffic block” given by the railways during which train operations were suspended.

Limited managing director N.V.S. Reddy who inspected the bridge, the last of the eight on the network, said it was a difficult job because the track ran over the road underbridge of the railways. The bridge is 64 feet wide to accommodate two Metro Rail tracks and 221 feet long, and stands 40 feet above the road. “The bridge had to be designed in the shape of a box,” he said.
