Rain brings relief to Telangana

Several areas in Hyderabad and across Telangana experienced quick spells of moderate rainfall, providing much-needed relief to denizens from intense heat on Friday. These short and sharp showers were beneficial to numerous localities including Serlingampally, Manikonda, Gachibowli, Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Jubilee Hills, Saroornagar, LB Nagar, Saidabad, and Vanasthalipuram. Recent rains have been significant, particularly in certain circles within Hyderabad. Karwan received 37 mm rainfall, Santhoshnagar recorded 33 mm, Falaknuma had 32 mm, and Goshamahal experienced 30 mm. Other areas such as Mehdipatnam, LB Nagar, and Rajendranagar also received notable rainfall, ranging between 13 mm and 22 mm.

The Met office predicted thunderstorms and rain over next three days due to surface circulation. Heavy rains are expected on Saturday in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts. Winds are likely to blow at speeds of 30 km/h to 40 km/h. On Sunday, light to moderate rains are anticipated in Nizamabad, Jagtial, Sircilla, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak,



Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts, with similar wind speeds.

By Monday, areas including Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Gadwal are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall. Several areas have already received considerable rain. Ziaguda, Asifnagar, and Bandlaguda each recorded 98 mm of rainfall. LB Nagar also experienced 98 mm of rain, while Serilingampally and Saroornagar both received 85 mm, and Hayatnagar had 85 mm. The Hyderabad region has seen varied rainfall intensities, from extremely heavy rains in some localities to moderate and light showers in others. Districts like Adilabad and Kamareddy also recorded significant rainfall, contributing to the overall relief from the sweltering heat. 

For Hyderabad city, the forecast indicates generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely towards the evening or night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 33°C and 24°C, respectively.
