Former Minister T Harish Rao demanded the State government for a compensation of Rs.20,000 per acre to farmers whose crops were damaged due to rains and hailstorms on Thursday.

After coming to know that crops were damaged in his constituency, Harish Rao spoke to agriculture and horticulture officials and enquired

about the extent of the damage the rain had done to farmers. He suggested the officials to carry out an enumeration so that they could press for compensation. Rao also spoke to a few farmers in Chinna Kodur and Nanganur mandals and enquired about the damage. He comforted the farmers, assuring them to make the government compensate for their loss.
