Unseasonal rains continued to haunt the farmers of erstwhile Medak district as rains and hailstorm lashed the district multiple times damaging standing agriculture and horticulture crops.

Farmers in Medak, Sangareddy and Siddipet suffered massive losses as rains and hailstorm lashed several parts of these three districts. According to initial enumeration carried out by the officials, crops were damaged on 1,900



acres in Medak district alone due to Friday rains while the enumeration of crop loss is still underway in Siddipet and Sangareddy districts.

The rains lashed the erstwhile Medak district on Saturday as well causing huge amounts of loss to the farmers. Since the rain water flooded the paddy procurement centres, the harvested paddy was also damaged at several places. Meanwhile, mango crop was also damaged due to hailstorm.
