The MeT forecasted another 24 hours of normal to heavy rain in Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana.
Several parts of Hyderabad and Telangana saw heavy rains that resulted in many people getting stranded on Wednesday evening.
Three persons, including a woman, were reportedly washed away in streams in separate incidents in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday night...several streams in the district were in spate. People were trapped in swirling waters at least three locations due to overflowing streams at the time of going to press. In the first incident, two persons travelling in an Indica car were washed away
in a swollen stream near Mominpet of Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday night.
The report also adds that Hyderabad's Uppal area received 7 cm rain with 4 cm in just one hour.
Many commuters were caught in the downpour that was accompanied by lightning at Yakutpura, Charminar, Malakpet, Dilsukhnagar, Santosh Nagar, Lakdikapul, Secunderabad, NTR Marg, Tank Bund, Kushaiguda, Charlapally, Ameerpet, Kukatpally, LB Nagar and Kothapet.Officials said the city could receive more rain on Thursday.
Many have complained of potholes and ditches on the city roads.
However, contractors of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) are reportedly involved in a blame game.
