Hyderabad: The State may have to brace for spells of rains early next week, say meteorologists. According to officials, the season’s first active western disturbance was approaching Jammu and Kashmir and would start impacting the weather by December 10. This system would also induce a cyclone circulation over northwest Rajasthan.

“As a result of the disturbance, there would be a circulation travelling in the south-south-westward direction, from Uttar Pradesh to Andhra Pradesh, spanning over Telangana. This would most likely

bring some rain over the State,” Mahesh Palawat, Chief Meteorologist, Skymet (a private weather forecasting outfit), told Telangana Today.  The rains would most likely affect the eastern and northern districts of the State, he said.

At present, a depression has already formed in the Bay of Bengal, which is likely to travel towards North Andhra Pradesh coast by December 10. Due to proximity to the coast and cold sea surface temperatures, the system would weaken but there would be the formation of rain-bearing clouds.
