The Telangana Raj Bhavan on Monday scotched rumours that the Governor, Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, was set to clear government Bills pending with her office.
In a statement, the Raj Bhavan said no Bill was pending with the Governor.
"Among the Bills sent by the government, three were cleared, two were referred to the Office of the President of India, and the rest of the Bills were returned to the state government with adequate explanations and messages," it stated.
The Bills approved by the Governor earlier were The Telangana Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, The Telangana Municipalities (Amendment Bill), 2023, and The Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural
University (Amendment) Bill, 2023.
The ones sent to the President’s office are The University of Forestry Telangana Bill, 2022, and The Telangana Universities Common Recruitment Board Bill, 2022.
The Governor sought clarifications on The Telangana Panchayat Raj (Amendment) Bill, The Telangana State Private Universities (Establishment and Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 2022, and The Telangana Municipal Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2022.
The Telangana Public Employment (Regulation of Age of Superannuation) (Amendment) Bill, 2022 was rejected.
