In a reprieve to Goshamahal legislator T. Raja Singh on Wednesday, the Supreme Court directed the district magistrates of Raipur and Yavatmal to take suitable steps on the concerns raised over potential hate speeches at rallies planned by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti.
Refusing to halt the rallies, the court ordered
the officials to ensure that there will be no hate speeches during Singh’s rallies. It also ordered the installation of CCTV cameras. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti is scheduled to hold rallies at Yavatmal on January 18 while the BJP will hold meetings in Raipur between January 19 and 25.
