Rajat Kumar is chief electoral officer of Telangana

Telangana principal secretary Rajat Kumar has been appointed the Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana on Monday. The Election Commission of India has sent an official communication to the Telangana government to inform them about this effect.

The state government had sent a panel of three names Rajat Kumar, Navin Mittal and



Shashank Goel on February 5, 2018. Official sources said, Telangana government would give a renotification on this notification on Tuesday.

The post of Chief Electoral Officer fell vacant on October 31 after retirement of the then Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal. Anoop Singh has been acting-CEO of Telangna.
