Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) has become the first airport in India to have launched the e-boarding facility. The end-to-end e-boarding facility was launched by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Monday. The service would reduce human interface and the waiting time at various check points along with bringing ease for the passengers through the
airport.
A domestic passenger will be able to walk into the airport and straightaway catch a flight by flashing the e-Boarding card on their mobile phones along with the Aadhaar card number. This solution eliminates stamping at various points of boarding passes or check-in counters. The details of the passenger would be displayed at various points through the biometric system.
