Chief Secretary Dr S.K. Joshi issued orders to officials to start preparations for President Ram Nath Kovind’s winter sojourn at Rashtrapati Nilayam, Bolaram. The President’s visit was officially scheduled from December 21 to 24.

The President will visit Karimnagar on December 22 to attend a function at Prathima Medical College. On December 23, the President has scheduled an At-Home with officials at Rashtrapati Nilayam. He will leave for Delhi on December 24.

Mr Joshi conducted a high level meeting at the Secretariat in connection with the visit and issued orders to all departments  concerned to start work.

Many state departments work in



coordination for the President’s visit. The heads of police transport and medical departments, officials of the Begumpet airport, Secunderabad Cantonment and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation were given instructions on how the preparations should be done.

Strong bandobast will be in place in the areas on the President’s travel itinerary and traffic diversions will be suggested by the traffic department. The GHMC was instructed to be on its toes and take up road repair and sanitation works in the VVIP area. 

The electricity department will be providing uninterrupted power supply, according to official information.
