Ration dealers commission hiked: Etela Rajender

The State government yesterday decided to increase commission from 20 paise to 70 paise per kilogram rice for the ration shop dealers. As the dealers were planning to stage protests against the government’s delay in resolving their issues, including increase of commission per kilo rice, arrears release and others, the government has resolved solve the pending problems pertaining to ration dealers in the State.

Finance & Civil Supplies Minister Etela Rajender yesterday said the State government was keen on resolving the issues of the ration shop dealers in the State. As directed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Rajender announced hike in the dealers’ commission from 20 paise to 70



paise per kilogram rice. This will be effective from September 1, he said, adding that arrears from October 1, 2015 will be paid to the dealers as per National Food Security Act.

He also said the TRS government was committed to use technology to plug loopholes in the distribution of ration items among the people. Rajender said they were implementing transparent policy in supply and distribution of essential commodities using technology and latest devices in all the villages and mandals.

Meanwhile, the State Ration Dealers’ Association expressed its happiness at the hike of commission and thanked the government for its gesture.
