Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Tuesday said the new Reddy hostel complex in nearby Budvel should emerge as the tallest educational tower in Telangana having a cluster of institutions offering advanced professional courses.
“It should be the national centre for campus recruitment,” the Chief Minister said after laying the foundation stone for the Reddy hostel, which will come up in a 15-acre campus on the city outskirts as part of its centenary celebrations.
Rao, responding to the appeal by the patrons of Raja Bahadur Venkatram Reddy Educational Society for additional land, immediately announced allotment of five
acres in addition to the 10 acres already allotted through a GO issued on Monday. He said the State government was willing to extend monetary support to any extent for the development of the campus as a premier education hub.
The government accorded administrative sanction of Rs 10 crore for the society on Tuesday morning through a GO. “A patch of land measuring 1,500 sft in Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM) premises, which is not being used, will be allotted for the expansion of the existing Reddy Women’s Hostel,” the Chief Minister said. A GO will be issued to this effect by Wednesday evening.
