The construction of Regional Ring Road (RRR) proposed next to Outer Ring Road (ORR) in Hyderabad will be completed within two years, once the tenders are finalised.Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to complete the RRR works in two years. At a review with officials of roads and buildings department at his camp office here on Tuesday, Rao said the 350 km long Regional Ring Road would be constructed next to ORR.
He directed the officials to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for the RRR. KCR directed them to divide the work into several packages for DPRs and award of tenders. The proposed
RRR will connect some of the new districts with Hyderabad.
The chief minister said around 2,500 km long new national highways were sanctioned to Telangana. He directed concerned officers to prepare the vision document for development all roads in the state considering the funds flow from the Central government and other sources.
The vision document on roads will also have plans for the construction of road over bridges (ROBs), road under brides (RUBs), construction of bridges, underpasses and causeways on rivers and canals. Islands will be constructed at important points on national highways.
