All the officers and employees working in the Five Regional Rural banks (RRBs) in both the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, will go on strike on June 30, as per the call given by the All India Regional Rural bank Employees Association, in support of their demands.
General secretary of AP – Telangana States RRBs Employees Association S Venkateswar Reddy said that over 10,000 staff are serving in 2,150 branches of
the five RRBs, extending banking services to over two crore customers in the rural areas of the two Telugu States.
Their demands include Amending the promotion/Recruitment rules on par with Sponsor Banks to encourage the younger employees; formation of National Rural Bank of India with State level amalgamation and pension payment to all employees of RRBs including new comers as in the case of commercial banks .
