Adilabad: Khanapur BRS MLA Ajmeera Rekha Naik on Friday announced that she has resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, as there is no respect for women in the party.
She went on to mention that her photo as MLA had not been included on the posters during the recent party meeting in Nirmal.
Speaking to media persons, Rekha Naik asserted that she will be contesting the forthcoming assembly general elections in Telangana.
Replying to a question, she maintained that right now, she cannot say whether she will contest as a rebel candidate or
as a nominee of another party. She declared that her aim is to defeat the BRS candidate Bhukya Johnson Rathod Naik.
The sitting MLA pointed out that IT minister K.T. Rama Rao himself had stated that Khanapur is lagging behind in development. She asked why the state government did not sanction funds to complete the pending works in Khanapur constituency.
Rekha Naik alleged that not developing Khanapur was a conspiracy to deny her the ticket from the constituency and allotting the seat to KTR’s friend Johnson Naik.
