TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Monday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family members of accepting a 30 per cent commission for legalising prohibited Bhoodan properties across 146 acres, worth Rs 1,000 crore, at Timmapur of Kandukur in Rangareddy using the Dharani portal.
Revanth Reddy, retaliating to Chandrashekar Rao’s comments on the Congress for highlighting failures of the Dharani portal, said the Congress would "provide a double-bedroom for Chandrashekar Rao and his family at Chanchalguda jail after the Congress comes to power in the state."
"When Congress was in power, thousands of acres were provided to landless people under Bhoodan. As part of this, the Congress provided 146 acres located in survey no 6/1 and others to landless at Timmapur. The same land is still shown as ‘prohibited’ by
the stamps and registration department portal, but it is legalised in the name of one N. Shiva Murthy, who is a follower of minister K.T. Rama Rao. K.T. Rama Rao accepted a 30 per cent commission and transferred the land to real estate businessmen through Dharani," Revanth Reddy said.
The TPCC chief said that they would lodge a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau and the district collector over the alleged irregularities done by the Chief Minister.
Stating that at least 20 lakh farmers are facing problems due to the Dharani portal, Revanth Reddy said they would cancel the Dharani portal after coming to power in Telangana. He also found fault with the state government for assigning maintenance of the Dharani portal to a bankrupt company, IL&FS, for Rs 250 crore.
