TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday said that the Medigadda barrage was damaged and the Rs 1 lakh crore that was invested in the project had been washed away in the Godavari due to the nexus between Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao and Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme contractors.

He said the poor quality of the Kaleshwaram scheme was a personification of the phrase ‘aagam agam’ (chaos) that Rao is using frequently during the election campaign to attack the opposition.

Revanth Reddy wondered how could the Medigadda bridge could be constructed on sand and emphasised that even to construct a house land is excavated and the structure is built on a strengthened portion of the soil.

"When a project worth Rs 1 lakh crore is built, it should be executed very carefully with utmost responsibility," said TPCC chief speaking at a public meeting held in Medchal constituency.

Pointing out at the list of BRS MLA candidates, he said that the people from the Backward Classes communities (BCs) including the ones from the Mudiraj community were not given MLA

tickets by the BRS.

Seeking votes in favour of Congress candidate Vajresh Yadav, Revanth Reddy said that the land prices in the constituency were very low in comparison to Kokapet due to the presence of the Jawaharnagar dump yard.

While reiterating the party’s Six Guarantees, the TPCC chief said that the Congress, if elected, would build a degree college and a 100-bed hospital in Medchal constituency.

Earlier, Revanth Reddy, wearing kanduvas of the Congress and party ally CPI, received a grand welcome in the constituency. He was accompanied by prominent local leaders and sought votes for party candidate T. Vajresh Yadav.

When Revanth Reddy shouted "marpu kavali" (change is needed), the crowd replied saying "Congress ravali" ( Congress should come). When he said "Bye Bye", the crowd responded with "KCR".

Medchal MLA M. Sudheer Reddy and his son Sharath Chandra Reddy, zilla parishad chairperson for Medchal-Malkajgiri, and Nakka Prabhakar Goud came out in support of the Congress candidate.
