TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Monday launched the Congress’s campaign for the ensuing Assembly elections at Vikarabad.
He addressed a public meeting after distributing the party's 'Six Guarantees' cards to people in Vikarabad Assembly constituency. This was the first public meeting addressed by Reddy after Congress announced the first list of 55 candidates on Sunday. Reddy campaigned in support of Congress candidates from Vikarabad district.
Addressing the meeting, he urged people of Telangana to put an end to the nine-year misrule of BRS by electing Congress in the upcoming Assembly polls.
He said that the Congress will usher in "Indiramma Rajyam" at 10.30 am on December 9. He invited people to take part in the oath-taking ceremony of the new Congress government."
The new Congress government will approve the first file on December 9 and implement the six guarantees that have been
promised," Reddy declared to huge applause from the gathering.
The Lok Sabha member urged the people to ensure the victory of Congress candidates in all the five constituencies in Vikarabad district.
"K. Chandrashekar Rao launched the BRS campaign from Husnabad. I have launched the Congress campaign from here. If Husnabad brings good luck to him, Vikarabad will do so for me," he stated.
He recalled that Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy brought Congress to power in 2004 by launching the party campaign from Chevella. He said that the previous Congress government had designed the Pranahita-Chevella project to mitigate the irrigation and drinking water woes of people in Rangareddy, Vikarabad and other south Telangana districts.
"But Rao, with his greed for money, redesigned this project, received kickbacks from contractors and delayed it. He failed to construct the project even after nine years," he said.
