The new TPCC president is poised to take charge on Wednesday and a rally is being planned from Peddamma temple in Jubilee Hills to Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion.
On Tuesday too, Revanth Reddy called on senior leaders, including outgoing TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, former Minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Sangareddy MLA T Jagga Reddy. The outgoing TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy will be missing the swearing in ceremony as he is planning to leave for Bengaluru.
Sources said Uttam Kumar Reddy will be joining a Nature Cure centre in Bengaluru, but the fact remains that he will not be available in office when his successor takes charge. Party circles are agog with speculation that this was the way in which Uttam Kumar Reddy wanted his displeasure known.
But the outgoing president maintained that he would be available for party cadre for any assistance on any issue. Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, he said he would attend the parliament monsoon sessions starting from July 19.
Revanth Reddy called on former Minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy, another aspirant at his residence and later called on CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
The CLP leader appealed to the
party cadre to work as per AICC president Sonia Gandhi’s instructions. He wanted party cadre to turn up in large numbers for Revanth Reddy’s swearing in ceremony. Earlier, TPCC vice president Mallu Ravi, who met Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at his residence, said the CLP leader had earlier recommended the names of former Minister D Sridhar Babu, Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and MLC T Jeevan Reddy for the new TPCC president post.
“There is no dissidence in the State Congress and all the leaders will stand on the same platform on Wednesday. The new TPCC president was elected in a democratic manner after seeking the feedback from leaders” remarked Mallu Ravi. When Revanth Reddy met Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy, the latter is stated to have assured his full support. “Time is up for us to aspire for new postings” Jagga Reddy remarked wryly after meeting with Revanth Reddy.
In another interesting development, AICC secretaries Bose Raju and Srinivasan met CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in the evening. It was believed that the two secretaries tried to placate Bhatti Vikramarka noticing that he was a ‘bit unhappy’ over the nomination of Revanth Reddy as the TPCC president, overlooking his ‘seniority’ in the party.
