TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday promised to adopt Adilabad district and ensure all-round development of the district, if the Congress was elected to power in the ensuing Assembly elections.
Addressing public meetings in Boath, Nirmal and Jangaon districts on Wednesday, Revanth Reddy promised to upgrade Boath as a 'revenue division' within December 31, if people elect the Congress in the Boath constituency.
Terming Adivasis and Lambadas as the 'two eyes of the Congress', Revanth Reddy said the party will work for the social and economic upliftment of these sections, if it was voted to power.
Revanth came down heavily on the BRS government for failing to deliver on the poll promises which it made before the 2014 and 2018 Assembly polls.
"Even 10 years after the BRS came to power in Telangana state, why didn't Boath get drinking water? Why are the people here not given the title on Podu lands? How many panchayats have buildings been built by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao who claims to have made Thandas as panchayats? The government did not pay the dues of thousands of crores to the sarpanches and incited them to commit suicide," Revanth said.
Referring to the Kaleshwaram project, Revanth Reddy said the Medigadda barrage has "collapsed" and Annaram barrage developed cracks.
He alleged that Chandrashekhar Rao was responsible for not getting water to the Boath. "If the the Kufti
project here is to be completed, the Congress must come to power. To build a new degree college for Boath, the Congress must win," he said.
Speaking in Nirmal, Revanth Reddy said the 'Nirmal Master Plan' hangs like a sword on the necks of people and alleged that the master plan has been temporarily postponed for elections.
"If BRS wins again, your lands will be acquired in the name of the master plan. If the Congress comes to power, we will cancel the master plan," Revanth declared. He also lashed out at minister A. Indrakaran Reddy for failing to deliver on the promise of 2BHK houses to the poor.
Speaking in Jangaon, Revanth Reddy said Jangaon is known as Congress’s bastion, the party will wrest this seat from BRS with a bumper majority.
"The Jangaon people have a special place in the Telangana movement and armed struggle. The Congress has done a lot for former TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah for decades. But Ponnala cheated the cadre and joined the BRS. He joined hands with our enemy. He shook hands with Chandrashekhar Rao after negotiations in America," Revanth alleged.
Alleging that Chandrashekhar Rao wants legislators who act like his slaves, Revanth said it was for this reason that the BRS fielded Palla Rajeshwar Reddy in Jangaon. He appealed to voters to defeat Palla Rajeshwar Reddy and send a clear signal to the BRS that Telangana people will not accept slavery.
