Sri Surendra Mohan, IAS, Additional Commissioner (Elections) said that in order to improve the voting percentage the GHMC is planning to introduce ring tone pertaining to cast the vote for creating awareness among the citizens for increasing the poll percentage.
The GHMC is having around 1500 mobile phones to the GHMC staff where at least each mobile phone will receives calls around 50 per day i.e., 1500x50=75,000 calls per day if calculated for the 20 days i.e., 75,000x20 around 15 lakhs people will be reaching the message to cast their vote. To this effect the GHMC is organizing a meeting on 18.01.2016 at 4PM

While interacting with the media persons the AC (Elections) said today so far 94 nominations have been received till today in all the 150 wards. For effective implementation of paid news advertisements MCMC committees have been constituted in all the circles under the Chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioners.
As per the directions of the State Election Commission the GHMC emergency and sanitation teams are removing all unauthorized posters, banners, flexies on priority. The AC(Elections) said that a separate app has been introduced for the convenience of the citizens to search their voter slip through mobile phones and the GHMC is also planning to link the TSEC website with the GHMC website.
Responding to the plea of the some of the reporters AC(Elections) said that sufficient polling personnel are available including 15% reserved and as per the instructions of the Election Authority, GHMC genuine cases like pregnancy, physically handicapped etc., are being taken care for exemption.
