Rizvi is Transco and Genco Chief

Health secretary Syed Ali Murtuza Rizvi has been moved to energy department and given additional charge to head Transco and Genco, after incumbent chairman and managing director D. Prabhakar Rao submitted resignation a few days ago.

A 1999 batch IAS officer, Rizvi worked as Hyderabad collector earlier and also



served as chairman and managing director of one of the power distribution companies.

Hailing from Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, Rizvi had studied electrical engineering from IIT Kanpur and public management and policy from IIM Ahmedabad before becoming an IAS officer.
