Rs 150 cr released for panchayat raj workers salaries

The state government has approved release of Rs 150,57,59,500 towards payment of pending salaries for 29,676 multipurpose workers in panchayat raj and rural development department. The amount is towards the matching grant from the state government for the grants from the Finance Commission grants to gram



panchayats. 

The multipurpose workers are spread over 32 districts in the state except Hyderabad which is urbanised and does not have any gram panchayats. The funds released should be used to pay salaries to the workers who have not been paid till May of this year, the government orders said.
