Hyderabad: On Monday, the government of Telangana allocated Rs 2,500 crore to the Hyderabad Metro Rail project. This money will be used to connect the metro to the airport and extend metro services to the old city.
Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) received Rs 1,500 crore from the State Assembly in the Budget for
2023–24.
Additionally, the government provided Rs 500 crore for the expansion of Metro Rail services into the old city and the connection of the metro to Shamshabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
In his speech about the budget, the state minister of finance, T. Harish Rao, only went into detail about the money set aside for connecting the metro to the airport.
