TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday said their Minorities Declaration would provide more benefits to Muslims.
Releasing the Minorities Declaration at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Revanth Reddy said that the Congress, which announced declarations for farmers, youths, women and minorities, will ensure opportunities for all sections.
"It (Congress) provided many opportunities to Muslims as ministers and Rajya Sabha members. The Congress will allocate Rs 4,000 crore by setting up a minority sub plan on lines of SC, ST sub plans. The Congress will take care of protecting Waqf lands," Revanth Reddy said.
He alleged that MIM was contesting from Jubilee Hills
after the Congress named Mohammed Zahuruddin as its candidate. "Why did MIM fail to contest from Goshamahal, where the BJP candidate is contesting? The MIM is supporting BRS and BJP," he alleged.
In the Minorities Declaration, Congress promised a caste census to provide benefits, with Rs 1,000 crore promised in loans to unemployed youths and Rs 5 lakh financial assistance for Muslims, Christians and Sikhs under the Abdul Kalam Taufa-e-Taleem scheme.
"Congress would provide a housing site and Rs 5 lakh financial assistance under the Indiramma Housing Scheme and Rs 1.60 lakh to newlywed Muslim, Christians and Sikhs," it stated.
