Despite the technical glitches, the department earned Rs 8.84 crore from 10.29 lakh pending challans across the state in the first two days. The actual value of the challans without discount could be around `25 crore, opined police officials.

However, there was no word on addressing the heavy rush and technical



glitches in the website.

The state government had issued orders offering a heavy discount on pending traffic challans across the state, in fulfillment of one of its election promises. Motorists with pending challans can opt for a one-time settlement up to January 10.
