BRS leader Dr RS Praveen Kumar on Monday slammed the State government for failing to address road accidents caused by a narrow bridge near Easgaon village in Kagaznagar mandal. He took part in a protest staged by locals at the bridge.
Expressing concern over road accidents at the bridge at regular intervals, Praveen Kumar criticised the government for showing negligence in constructing a broad bridge to prevent road accidents. He stated that the district had many such narrow bridges and potholed roads, resulting in road mishaps and claiming lives.
The BRS leader demanded the government to create better road and bridge facilities. Else, the party would launch protests
soon. He found fault with MLC Dande Vittal for failing to commence works of the road and bridge infrastructure in Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency. He also accused former MLA Konappa of collecting commissions from contractors.
Praveen Kumar opined that the victims of road accidents would have become doctors and engineers if alive. He questioned as to who could understand the agony of their parents and demanded that local MLA Dr Harish Babu take steps to improve roads and bridges in the segment.
Earlier, he inspected work on a damaged bridge across Peddavagu near Andevelli village in Kagaznagar mandal, where he said the quality of the work on the bridge also was poor.
