State Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar on Thursday said around Rs 18.08 crore in cash, two lakh litres of liquor worth Rs 2.53 crore and drugs, narcotics and other material worth Rs 2.48 crore were seized till March 28.
Speaking to the media here, Rajat Kumar said the total seizures amounted to about Rs 23.38 crore till now. Some people had complained that they were receiving SMSes and calls asking them to vote for a particular political party and clarified that this was not a violation of Model Code of Conduct till campaign
ends.
He asked people to call 9490617523 and register their complaints in DIG office if one gets SMSes or calls urging them to vote for a particular party in the last 48 hours before the polling day on April 11.
“I am examining the issue of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao calling up a farmer and speaking to him. The government is in place and the Chief Minister can carry out his administrative works. The EC will take action only if there is a violation of MCC,” he said.
