The Transport
Department will begin cashless transactions from Tuesday by offering all its
services online. The Department has earlier provided 15 services online and
from Tuesday onward 44 more services would be added to the list.
This would facilitate cashless transactions in the Transport Department offices in the state. The services include driving license, registration of vehicles, issue of new and renewal of fitness certificates, issue and renewal of permits, etc.
According to
officials, under this initiative, slot system is provided for all types of
transactions to enable the
citizens to schedule date and time to avoid delay.
The applications can be filed online, through e-seva/me-seva centres or in any internet centre. The applicant has to pay fee online or in e-seva/me-seva centres only. After filing applications online, a transaction number, date and time for transaction would come to the registered mobile. No manual services would be available from August 2 onwards.
Transport Commissioner Sandeep Sultania said with the online system, the applicant would have to come to the office only for the verification, digital signature and photo.
