The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) has decided to intensify their protests from Monday.

Speaking to media here on Sunday, RTC JAC Convenor Ashwathama Reddy said they would stage protests in front of residences of Ministers and MLAs on Monday. “All the Ministers, MLAs, MLCs should condemn the attacks on RTC workers at Tank Bund or we will hold protests in front of their residences,” he warned.

JAC also decided to go for a 24-hour hunger strike on Tuesday led by its leaders Ashwathama Reddy, Raji Reddy, Sudha and Lingamurthy. “Government should at least now invite us for talks,” he said.

Reddy dismissed reports of Maoist frontal organisations allegedly getting involved in Saturday’s

‘Chalo Tank Bund’ protest rally. He claimed that such kind of statements were being made only to mislead the RTC strike in the State.

“We will exhibit the photographs of lathi charge and attacks made on our workers. The strike is getting intensified day by day but State government is not responding,” he said.

Meanwhile, as the indefinite strike entered the 37th day on Sunday with the JAC announcing that they would hold ‘sadak bandh’ (road blockade) on November 18 across the State.

The JAC meeting with political parties on Sunday had the participation of Prof Kodandaram of Telangana Jana Samithi, Congress leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and V Hanumantha Rao, BJP leader A P Jithender Reddy and others.
