Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) brought over 11,000 vehicles into operation on Monday and ensured that people reach their destinations safely.
TSRTC alone operated 5,118 buses including 3,105 RTC buses and 2,013 hired buses, besides roping in another 6,000 vehicles including buses owned by private operators, educational institutions and private vehicles like Maxi Cabs.
According to a release, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar along with TSRTC Managing Director and Principal Secretary for Transport Sunil Sharma, monitored the situation
and coordinated with the district officials to increase number of vehicles as passengers rush increased on the eve of Dasara. Officials from TSRTC, transport, police and other departments coordinated with each other to increase the vehicles to ensure that people do not suffer due to the ongoing RTC strike.
“The government is committed to improving transportation facility for people visiting their native places for the festival. We will make alternative arrangements by increasing the number of vehicles being operated,” the Minister said.
