With the RTC strike entering the 20th day, Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees Joint Action Committee (JAC) convener Ashwathama Reddy said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s statements on Thursday were hurting the sentiments of RTC employees.

Accusing Rao of giving least priority to RTC employees who worked for the welfare of the corporation, Reddy reiterated that JAC was sticking to its demands and they would not step down unless

the demands were met.

“The strike will continue as per schedule across the State and there is no chance of it being called off,” he said, adding that RTC had paid over Rs 5,000 crore as tax to the government in the last five years and asked why a public transport entity should pay tax when it was doing public service. JAC leaders said they would organise ‘Rasta Roko’ and block roads and highways on Friday.
