The women employees of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) staged a mute protest near Mahatma Gandhi statue at Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) on Sunday. The protest continued till 1 pm.
The unions also asked the workers to pay tributes to Acharya Jayashankar and martyrs of RTC across the state. The TSRTC has decided to continue their protests after the government did not respond to the employees
rejoining. The government said that it will decide over the TSRTC issue after the High Court declares its verdict.
However, the government is yet to take a call. On Friday, the High Court backed the decision of the Telangana government to privatise 50 percent of TSRTC. The government also said it could not bear the financial burden of the RTC as it is further slipped to losses.
