RV Karnan Takes Charge as GHMC Commissioner Telangana

IAS officer R.V. Karnan assumed charge as GHMC commissioner on Tuesday, earning praise for his prior work on food safety enforcement.IAS officer R.V. Karnan took charge as commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday morning. He replaced K. Ilambarithi, now secretary, municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) department. 

Karnan in his



previous posting as director of the state health and family welfare department, was known for the conducted checks that the food safety wing initiated on restaurants, pubs and ice cream parlours. These checks helped raise awareness about food safety among the public. GHMC staff and officials greeted both officers and wished them all the best in their new roles.
