In Hyderabad, the historic Hussain Sagar turned vibrant with Bathukamma songs, fireworks, and a laser show as the Telangana government held Saddula Bathukamma celebrations last night. It marked the conclusion of the nine-day-long festival of flowers, Bathukamma. Telangana cabinet ministers, officials, and artists held a rally. People gathered at the Tank Bund in large numbers to take part in the celebrations.
Telangana Women and Child Welfare Minister Seethakka participated in Bathukamma celebrations held at the Tank Bund in Hyderabad. On the last day of Saddula Bathukamma, women and girls gathered together and celebrated by playing and singing with devotion around goddess Gouri, kept on piles of a variety of flowers organised in an order. Thousands of women across Telangana state joyfully sang the ‘Bathukamma Bathukamma Uyyalo’ songs while praying to the goddess.
The Hanumakonda Padmakshi pond was thronged by women and children. In other districts of the state, like Karimnagar, Nalgonda, Adilabad, Nizamabad, Medak, and Mahbubnagar, among others, Bathukamma festivities concluded.
