Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was presenting Bathukamma sarees to women to help them celebrate Saddula Bathukamma in a grand way and enjoy the festival of flowers, said Nizamabad MP K Kavitha.
MP Kavitha, Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, MLAs, MLCs and several public representatives participated in the saree distribution programme held at Rajeev Gandhi Auditorium, Nizamabad.
Kavitha said that the Chief Minister was always committed to the welfare of the people and introduced various schemes for their benefit. He had been issuing Rs 1,000 pension to poor women, widows, elderly women, beedi workers and others.She said that if the CM started any
work, he would not take rest until it was completed, as he did during the separate statehood movement for Telangana. He was now striving for golden Telangana.
She said that the Telangana government was distributing Bathukamma sarees to women to help them celebrate the festival cheerfully.
Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that KCR was distributing saris to women in the State like a brother. Over 5.13 lakh saris would be distributed in Nizamabad district, he added.The Minister said that earlier, the Bathukamma celebrations were stopped due to the negligence of Andhra rulers, but Telangana government had revived this tradition.
