The Hyderabad city returned to the 40ºC mark on Tuesday as summer kept getting extended. Saroornagar recorded the highest maximum temperature in the city at 41.9ºC, followed by Serilingamaplly at 40.5ºC and Uppal 40.3ºC.
Statewide, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district was the hottest at 45.7ºC, followed by Kumaram Bheem at 45.4ºC and Bhadradri Kothagudem at 45.3ºC as per the TS Development and Planning Society.
The minimum temperature also remained high, with Khammam having the warmest night at 30ºC, followed by Bhadrachalam at 28ºC and Adilabad 27.8ºC.
The IMD has said that Telagana will experience heat wave conditions in isolated pockets till June 10, with the day temperature remaining above 44ºC in many parts of the
state.
For the next five days, a cyclonic circulation in Chattisgarh and a trough from east Bihar will bring light to moderate rain or thundershowers at isolated places.
The IMD put out heat alert for the districts of Kumaram Bheem, Adilabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahbubabad, Suryapet, Khammam, Nalgonda, Warangal, Peddapalli districts for three days.
Thunderstorms, lightning and winds at 40 kmph were likely over five days in the districts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, Jogulamba Gadwal, Suryapet and nearby areas.
