As the southwest monsoon gets active over Telangana again, several localities of Hyderabad have been witnessing moderate to heavy downpours.

On Friday as of 5 pm, Saroornagar received the highest rainfall of 47.8 mm. The continuous rains have resulted in a dip in the temperature in the city and the maximum temperature recorded on Friday was 28.8 degree Celsius.

Several localities, including Hayathnagar, Uppal, Saidabad, Kapra and Golconda experienced upto 26 mm of rainfall. According to the forecast by Telangana State Development Planning Society,



the city is likely to receive more downpours for the next three days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a Yellow alert for Hyderabad till August 31. As on Friday, Hyderabad has received 10.6 per cent excess rain during this monsoon season.

Several districts of Telangana have been receiving heavy downpours for the last two days. On Friday, Suryapet, Sangareddy, Nalgonda, Jangaon and Peddapalli received upto 58.8 mm of rainfall. Narayanraopet in Siddipet saw the highest rainfall of 64 mm.
