Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao termed the Supreme Court’s directives in the Kancha Gachibowli case, as a tight slap in the face of the Congress government for its senseless actions in Telangana. He said the apex court’s observations, especially its censure over the use of bulldozers during holidays, exposed the deliberate and dangerous environmental destruction by the Revanth Reddy government.
“These directives are a slap in the face to the government that tried to deprive Hyderabad of its green cover under the guise of development,” he said.
In a statement, Harish Rao lauded the SC-appointed Central Empowered Committee’s (CEC) report for exposing the lies of the Congress government.
He appreciated that civil society and the legal system have once again stepped in to protect democracy and the Constitution. He charged the Chief Minister with pursuing a destructive policy and delivering an authoritarian governance by misusing HYDRAA.
Harish Rao said the BRS had submitted a detailed report to the CEC with evidence, and called on the public to unite against Revanth Reddy’s autocratic rule.
Meanwhile, former Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar, known for his Green India Challenge initiative, expressed happiness over the apex court’s intervention. Calling it a landmark moment for environmental justice, he congratulated everyone who stood up for nature and wildlife in the Kancha Gachibowli area.
