State-owned coal major Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) created a history of sorts by registering a record production of coal against the target set for December, 2016. Similarly, it displayed significant performance in the transportation of coal.
In a statement issued by the SCCL management on Monday, 59. 52 lakh tonnes of coal was mined in December as against the target of 52.78 lakh tonnes, which is a record production in the history of the coal giant.The earlier record output was 57.40 lakh tonnes of coal, mined in December, 2015. This means the production last month increased by four per cent and surpassed the
previous record output.
Meanwhile, the SCCL transported 59.84 lakh tonnes of coal in December as against 54.42 lakh tonnes dispatched in 2015. The dispatch indicated growth by 10 per cent. Coal handling plants (CHP) located in Bellampalli, Mandamarri, Godavarikhani of Peddapalli and Rudrampur of Kothagudem district loaded 155 wagons of coal.
SCCL chief managing director N Sridhar complimented workers and officials of the CHPs for the outstanding performance. He instructed authorities to present cash rewards to staff members of the plants and urged workers to continue the good work in the coming quarter.
