The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is all set to pay Rs 82,000 each towards PLR (Diwali) festival bonus and Dasara festival advance. The SCCL management is spending around Rs 456 crore to pay the amount for Singareni workers following instructions from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

In a release, SCCL chairman and managing director N Sridhar said that as per instructions of the Chief Minister, the PLR bonus has been increased to Rs 57,000 per worker from Rs 54,000 paid last year. Similarly, the Dasara festival advance also has been increased by Rs 7,000 when compared to Rs 18,000 paid last year. “While Dasara advance will be credited to the bank



accounts of workers by September 22, the PLR bonus will be deposited in the second week of October before Diwali festival,” he added.

The SCCL management has been constantly increasing PLR bonus every year from Rs 48,500 for 2014-15 to Rs 54,000 for 2015-16 and then to Rs 57,000 for 2016-17. The latest announcement would result in expenditure of Rs 456 crore including Rs 336 crore towards PLR bonus and Rs 120 crore towards Dasara festival advance, for the company. SCCL chairman and managing director N Sridhar wished that the workers would celebrate the festivities in a grand manner and continue to work hard for progress of the company.
