As a mark of respect to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away in Delhi on Thursday, the Telangana government has declared a holiday for all state government offices, semi-government offices, public sector undertakings, corporations and educational institutions on Friday.
Seven-day mourning would also be observed across Telangana in view of the demise of the former premier, Telangana chief secretary S K
Joshi said on Thursday.
According to a message issued by the chief secretary’s office, the national flag would be flown at half-mast and there will be no official programmes during the period of mourning between August 16 and August 22.
The message was circulated to DGP, collectors, police commissioners and superintendents of police of all Telangana districts.
