The South Central Railway (SCR) on Friday signed Long Term Tariff Contract (LTTC) agreement with Penna Cement Industries for five years to transport freight traffic at fixed rates.
This scheme would give a long-term stability and certainty in the freight tariff rates to corporate freight customers of the Indian Railways, according to a press release.
“Once a customer enters into this LTTC contract with the Railways, the freight tariff rate remains fixed for one year. This gives predictability and stability in freight rates and helps the
customers plan their logistics for that year, without worrying about change in rates,” the press release said. The scheme gives incentives to freight customers in discounts. It is a growth-linked incentive.
Penna Cement Industries Limited is the eighth company to sign such agreement and the other companies that have already signed such agreements with the SCR are UltraTech Cements Ltd, Orient Cement Ltd, Kesoram Industries Ltd, My Home Industries Ltd, Ramco Cement Ltd, Zuari Cement Ltd and Bharathi Cement Ltd.
