The South Central Railway (SCR) is planning to launch a drive against unauthorised vendors in trains and at railway stations.
According to sources, the drive was planned to meet the targets fixed by the Railway Board. In a high-level meeting that was attended by divisional railway officials from Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur,
Guntakal and Nanded divisions of the zone on Friday, it was decided to impose high penalties on unauthorised vendors.
General Manager Ravindra Gupta also directed the officials to carry out a drive against anti-littering for the upkeep of railway stations and ticket checking drive against unauthorised occupation of seats/berths in trains.
