SCR to run 96 additional trains in Oct/Nov

South Central Railway is all geared up to run 96 additional trains in October and November, keeping in mind the rush of passengers to and from Secunderabad, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Jaipur, Raxaul and other places during the festive season.

In the shortest route, 18 superfast trains will be allotted from Secunderabad to Vijayawada and vice versa every Sunday . These trains will stop at Nalgonda, Miryalaguda and Guntur. The Tirupati-Kakinada Town section is set to have a pair of nine trains that will ply every Sunday in both directions. Passengers heading to Gudur, Nellore, Ongole, Tenali, Vijayawada and Eluru can avail of these trains. Sixteen special weekly trains will be provided in the Tirupati-Nagarsol section every Friday evening. However, the trains in return direction will leave Nagarsol on Saturdays.People can board the trains from Begumpet and Lingampally stations.

authorities will run 18 more trains between Tirupati and H S Nanded every Wednesday . The trains will depart Secunderabad in the evening and ply via Kamareddy , Nizamabad, Ongole and Khammam, among others.

A pair of eight trains will ply between Hyderabad and Jaipur every Sunday . The rail authorities will arrange trains for return direction on Fridays as well. Similarly, the Secunderabad-Raxaul section will have 10 extra trains that will run via Allahabad, Varanasi and Patna every Tuesday . For the return direction, these trains will be available every Friday .

“The places for which we have planned the special trains are mostly sought after by people during winters. It is very difficult to accommodate tourists during these seasons. Many of them have to cancel trips with their seats not reserved.We hope the additional trains will help them,“ a senior railway officer said.
