Secunderabad Bonalu to be held on July 9

Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairy Development Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav announced here on Monday that this year’s Secunderabad Bonalu festival will be held on July 9 and the 'rangam' (divination) will be held on July 10. 

Speaking during the swearing in ceremony of the new governing body of Ujjain Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad, Talasani said that after the formation of the state, the Telangana government has enhanced the uniqueness of Bonalu and Bathukamma celebrations, which reflect the culture and traditions of Telangana.

He said that Bonalu and Bathukamma festivals are celebrated with great pomp by people of Telangana living in many countries and added that it was a matter of pride for the state.

Talasani said that the government is making all arrangements to ensure the devotees do not face any inconvenience during the festivities and added that the



temple itself has been developed in a way that the devotees who come for ‘darshan’ of Goddess Mahakali do not face any trouble.

Saying that the drumbeats and costumes during the processions will add a special charm to festivities, the minister added that roads and drainages in the vicinity of the temple have been developed for the festival.

Felicitating the members of the temple governing committee with shawls, Talasani said that the members of the governing body should act in coordination with the government officials and work for the development of the temple while ensuring that devotees do not face any difficulties.

Temple Trustee Krishna, EO Manohar Reddy, former corporators Attili Aruna Goud, Attili Mallikarjun Goud, Kiranmayi, Ganesh Temple Committee Chairman Satyanarayana and others participated in this program.
